# UK GTC Website
> The UK Respiratory Gene Therapy Consortium, a collaboration of researchers from Imperial College London, Oxford, and Edinburgh Universities, has dedicated over two decades to developing gene therapy for cystic fibrosis and other respiratory conditions. The consortium has advanced from demonstrating stabilization of lung function with a non-viral liposome approach to developing a novel, more efficient lentivirus carrier. This lentivirus platform is now being advanced towards first-in-man clinical trials for cystic fibrosis, particularly for patients not responsive to current treatments, through partnerships with Boehringer Ingelheim and Oxford BioMedica.
