Medicor Foundation is an independent charitable foundation based in Liechtenstein. It was founded in 1995 thanks to a generous private initiative.  Medicor Foundation focuses on international development and selects convincing projects in the fields of education, health and social care.

In 2006, the work of the Consortium was brought to the attention of the Medicor Foundation and the decision was made to support the research.

Medicor Foundation's support had gone towards supporting the phase 2B clinical trials and also allowing the Gene Therapy Consortium to pursue alternative ways to transport the CFTR gene.
